His research interests encompass among others: Participatory Action Research in Science Education, Teaching and Learning the Particulate Nature of Matter, Cooperative Learning, Education for Sustainable Development, Socio-critical and Problem-oriented Science Education, Teachers' Beliefs, Science Teachers' PCK, and Innovations in Higher Chemistry Education. He is also the Joint Co-Editor International Journal of Physics and Chemistry Education and Joint Founding Editor of Action Research and Innovation in Science Education.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa SÖZBİLİR

Atatürk University, Turkiye

Speech Title: Contribution of Technology to Science Teaching in the Covid Era

He works at Atatürk University. His research interests include studies on teacher training, curriculum evaluation, students learning and teaching in science/chemistry, undergraduates’ understandings of chemical ideas in thermodynamics, trends in science/chemistry education, and teaching science/chemistry to visually impaired students. He served in the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry - www.iupac.org) Committee on Chemistry Education as a titular member (2008-2015) and chair (2016-2017). Currently, he is a national representative for Turkey in the same committee since 2018.

Dr. Alperen Zekeriya KARATAŞ
TUBITAK Social and Human Sciences Research Support Group Coordinator

Speech Title: Support for Research Projects in Social and Human Sciences and Tips for Project Writing

He was born 1988 in Manisa, Turkiye. He completed his undergraduate education at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University. He took his master’s degree in the Informatics Law program at Hacettepe University. His doctoral studies continue in Urban and Environmental Sciences program at Ankara University. He started to work as an Assistant Expert in the Social and Human Sciences Research Support Group within Presidency of Research Support Programs at TUBITAK in 2011. During his 11 years as an expert, he took part in the application, evaluation and monitoring processes of academic R&D projects. He was involved in many studies such as provided national liaison with the development of new support programs, designing process improvement mechanisms, multi-partner international project supports such as ERA-NET, project writing trainings and information presentations. In addition to these duties, he was particularly interested in impact-oriented studies in the social and human sciences. He has been working as Social and Human Sciences Research Support Group Coordinator since 9 August 2022.

Speech Title: Teknofest'e Nasıl Hazırlanılır? BUÜ Modeli

1972’de İstanbul’da doğan Prof. Dr. Akın Burak Etemoğlu 1994’te Uludağ Üniversitesi Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora derecelerini sırasıyla 1996 ve 2003 yıllarında aldı. 2013 yılında Profesör unvanını alan Dr.Etemoğlu halen Uludağ Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü öğretim üyesi olup, eşzamanlı ısı-kütle transferi uygulamaları, ısıl sistem optimizasyonu, konvansiyonel enerji sistemleri, atık ısı geri kazanımı, jeotermal enerji ve ekserji konularında çalışmalar yürütmektedir.

1995’de Bursa’da doğan Araş.Gör. Mert Ali ÖZEL, 2017 yılında Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. Aynı üniversitede yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamladı. Doktora tez aşamasında olan Araş. Gör. Mert Ali ÖZEL, 2018 yılından beri Makine Teorisi ve Dinamiği Ana Bilim Dalı’nda araştırma görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır. Matematik modelleme, rotor dinamiği, hidrojen enerjisi yazılım sistemleri konularında çalışmaktadır. Aynı zamanda, 2021 yılında ULUTEK Teknopark Bölgesi’nde kurulan Oxodes Teknoloji isimli firmanın akademisyen kurucu ortağı olarak çalışmaktadır.
